Sure, we have all the equipment necessary to handle any job, but equipment alone is not what makes our business a success. "It's our people". The foundation of our success rests on the capable shoulders of Laurita's employees. These are folks who take pride in doing a good day's work and relish the chance to apply their skills and experience to a challenging project. Many of them have worked together at Laurita for years, creating a strong and efficient team ready to dig into the project at hand.
Tom Laurita
Position: President
Profile: In April of 1984, Tom incorporated Laurita
Excavating, Inc. With only a used CASE 450 track loader and hoe
attachment, Tom performed residential excavation, septic system
installation, and trucking part time.
In 1989 Tom started tackling commercial projects and reclamation full-time.
From a one man crew to an 80 plus employee base, Tom continues to
develop a successful business.
Toni Dering
Position: Secretary / Treasurer
Profile: Toni has been with Laurita Excavating, Inc
for twenty years as the Secretary / Treasurer, and EEO officer.
Her primary involvement has been corporate taxation and accounting
with experience in accounts
payable, receivable, employee benefits, and payroll. Toni graduated
from Wheeling Jesuit University with a BS in Accounting in 1988,
and received her CPA in 1991.
Atelio "Ott" Meale
Position: Vice President
Profile: Ott has 11 years with Laurita and has worked primarily
with estimating / bidding of projects. Prior to working for Laurita Ott spent
12 years as project manager for a large DC metro firm, and 4 years surveying (DOH & Power plant
construction) in Texas. He obtained a BS in Civil Engineering Technology, and a AS in Safety
Engineering Technology in 1981 from Fairmont State University.
Derek Bolinger
Position: Maintenance Superintendent / Fleet Manager
Profile: For more than 9 years Derek has served as maintenance
superintendent and lead mechanic for Laurita. Derek brings 24
years heavy equipment experience to the table.
He currently lives in Bruceton Mills with his wife of 24 years
and their 3 children.
Brandi Gibson
Position: Accounts / Coordinator
Profile: Brandi joined the Laurita team in December of 1996. Her
duties include payroll, accounts payable, and coordination of employee benefits -
health and retirement.
Mark Pysell
Position: General Superintendent
Profile: Mark has 20 years experience in the industry, 14
spent with Laurita. While serving as superintendent he has completed
a wide variety of projects including; heavy
and highway excavating, commercial and residential underground
utilities, concrete work, and complete site development. Mark
is a family man going on 24 years, and has 3 children. He enjoys
spending
weekends with his family boating, and fishing.
Jeff Freeman
Position: General Superintendent
Profile: Dating back to 1974 Jeff began building coal
preparation plants with Interstate Engineering. He also did maintenance
work for a number of years, and started his own firm building
coal landing facilities setting up deep mine sites. For the past 15 years at Laurita,
Jeff has overseen jobs ranging from $1,000 to $4,000,000.00
in mine reclamation, sanitary sewer lines, housing developments, amphitheaters,
demolition, & rails to trails.
Jeff Anderson
Position: Project Manager / Estimator
Profile: Jeff has been with Laurita for two years.
He graduated from Fairmont State University with a BS in Civil Engineering
Technology. Jeff spent 3 years in Northern Virginia and Eastern West Virginia
doing Geotechnical work and Structure Inspection for two large Engineering Firms.
His background in Engineering and Information Technology helps while handling
some of the Estimating and Project Management duties for Laurita Excavating, Inc.
